Problem:
Needed to build prototype devices more quickly and easily.
Operator used both hands to work on the device, but frequently had to stop
to manually
rotate
the part.
Solution:
Build a semi-automatic rotary positioner, operated by a footswitch. This
frees both of the operator’s hands to work on the device.
Pressing the bi-directional footswitch causes a stepper motor to rotate the
part clockwise or counterclockwise by a programmed angle. The positioner uses
a programmable controller with a computer interface for programming.
